Carolina is a native of Brazil, where she played eight years of national and international championship events with a best singles ranking of #1 in the state of Sao Paulo and #4 in the country. In addition, she played satellite tournaments and competed for German clubs in Stuttgart.

Carolina played No. 1 singles and doubles for Withrop University, where she earned a degree in Business/Economics. While at Withrop, she became Big South Conference Women's Athlete of the Year, All-Conference Player of the Year with an undefeated season and Presidential Honor Roll for high GPA. She was the first Winthrop tennis player to be ranked in the top 30 NCAA Div. I rankings. She was honored as the team captain in her Junior and Senior years.

In January 2006, Carolina was inducted into Withrop University Hall of Fame as an outstanding student-athlete. She is currently rated an NTRP 5.5 player and is the #1 player in the Southeast, #1 in the US and #6 in the World ITF Women's 35 Singles Division. Carolina is also National Tester and has been a Professional Certified with the PTR since 1995. In 2010, she was honored as the PTR Female Player of the Year.
